The inception of the idea of forming a charitable trust in the name of the legendary valiant Warrior king Pazhassi Kerala Varma Raja took place in a meeting presided over by Brahmasree Dr. Peeyush M Namboothirippad at Alakapuri Auditorium, Calicut on Nov. 6th 2005. The Trust, the brain child of Dr. Namboothirippad, was formed with the noble intentions of remembering the great pioneer freedom fighter and introducing him to the new generation, thereby enlightening the people of the day with the chivalrous stories of the fight against the alien rule.

It was intended to make the Trust a platform to facilitate the ongoing programme of inculcating the noble feelings of patriotism and nationalism amongst the people who are unfortunately frustrated with the tumult and turmoil of the present days under the dangerous philosophy of terrorism and extremism. It is imperative that appropriate measures are taken across the whole country to counter the onslaught of the anarchist sections.

We feel contented that we have been able to carry out a lot of activities despite our feeble fiscal status. Medical camps and Seminars were conducted in the health and education areas as a part of our commitment to the society. The Pazhassi Raja Charitable Hospital was established in Perambra in Kozhikode District and a lot of philanthropic services are rendered at the centre.

Wayanad, Kozhikode and Kannur Districts are incorporated in the functional regions of the Trust.
